Implementation

How do I build wellbeing into the Australian Curriculum?

Wellbeing fits naturally into two parts of the Australian Curriculum: the Health and Physical Education learning area, and the Personal and Social Capability general capability. Teaching habits like gratitude, kindness and empathy supports both, so wellbeing time counts as curriculum time.

Where wellbeing connects

  • Health and Physical Education: personal, social and community health, including relationships, emotions and wellbeing.
  • Personal and Social Capability: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and social management.
  • Across subjects: gratitude writing in English, kindness projects in HASS, reflection in any subject.

How GWG HQ helps

GWG HQ is a curriculum-aligned resource library, so teachers can see where each lesson fits. Lessons are mapped to version 9 of the Australian Curriculum, across Health and Physical Education and the Personal and Social Capability. Weekly and term planners and an assessment generator make it easy to plan and report.
