Classroom activities

Quick wellbeing activities for the start of the day

A short, consistent start helps students settle, connect and get ready to learn. Each of these takes five minutes or less.

  1. Feelings check-in. Students show how they feel with a colour, a number or a picture.
  2. One good thing. Each student shares one good thing from yesterday or this morning.
  3. Mindful minute. One minute of slow breathing with eyes closed or lowered.
  4. Gratitude question of the day. A simple prompt, such as "Who helped you this week?"
  5. Kindness intention. Each student decides one kind thing they will do today.

GWG HQ includes daily check-ins, where you choose what to capture and the data stays private to you, and a lesson adapter to turn any lesson into a five minute version.
